What’s Your Energy Around Your Strengths?

People tend to ask, “what are your strengths”?

Has someone ever told you, “I don’t have any talents” or “I’m not good at anything”? Maybe that person was you. In a world where stardom is sensationalized, it’s really easy to draw those kinds of conclusions about ourselves because we’re not Beyonce or LeBron James. The truth is, You arrived here with a special purpose and gifts inside each one of us before we were even born. You had a purpose and you’re good at something; sometimes it just requires a little effort to determine what that something is.

Do a little exercise with me; close your eyes. Think of the last time you were really, truly happy, a time when you were having fun, a time when you felt the most fulfilled. What were you doing? Who were you doing it with? Take some time to really meditate on this. Take 10 minutes or longer if you have to. Chances are that thing that brought you so much joy and fulfillment is, in fact your strength zone.

Next, think about the things that you not only enjoy doing, but things that you are particularly good at. You may not be the best singer in your choir, but maybe you have a great love and appreciation for music and you have great organizational qualities. This is good; you can do something with that. Writers, producers and agents are not always the ones singing the songs. Music directors are not necessarily gifted in singing, but they are gifted in showcasing the talents of others and helping them shine. Perhaps, you are not the best athlete, but you have a love and appreciation for sports and possess some special skills that will allow you to tap into this passion. If you are good at following and enforcing rules and know sports extremely well, maybe you have a career as a referee; or maybe you’re good at communicating with others and extracting information in which case you might have a great career ahead of you as a sports reporter.

Think outside the box. Your strengths and talents don’t always have to lie in what you see on television and the media. You have to look inward to learn your true passion and purpose and ultimately determine what you are really good at. You may not know it today, but I promise you, you have amazing gifts and qualities that you have not even begun to discover yet. I challenge you to take the time to learn more about yourself so that you may discover your true gifts because you will never experience true joy in your life until you are walking in your strengths and capitalizing on the gifts that are inside you.


What Do Your Feelings Tell You?


Some of us are quite aware of our gifts and our strengths but are allowing them to lie dormant. Why? You have special qualities within you that have only been placed within you, and you have a purpose that only you can fulfill in your lifetime – ONLY YOU. Don’t waste the precious gifts that have been given to you. I understand that sometimes it can be scary to step out on faith and trust the Universe to give you what you’re seeking, but isn’t more scary not to? You will never know what amazing life lies on the other side of your fears if you are just willing to allowing your real energy to guide you.


The way you feel is an expression of how well you are allowing the Universe to guide you. You feel good about something you are allowing what you would like in your life to come closer to you. Feeling not so good about it, you are resisting something. So many times, we believe the words of others instead of believing our own gut feelings. Then, what happens? Trusting our own gut feelings will always guide us to the best results. Are you ready to start paying attention to you?

Walk in your energy around your strengths; use the gifts you came here with and watch your life of abundance blossom!

Awareness Is the First Step

First, there is a yen to every yang. Where there is good, there is bad; where there is right, there is wrong; and, where there is strength, there is also weakness. There is nothing wrong with this because, honestly, no one can be good at everything. There are many different rules of thought on how to treat your weaknesses. Some feel that you should cultivate them and always strive to get better in these areas; others think you should leave them alone. My opinion – why spend valuable time developing and cultivating qualities within you that have a cap because they are not tapping into your natural ability? The hard truth is, no matter how hard you work on your weaknesses, they will never outshine your strengths. Why? Because they were not the Universal qualities that have been instilled in you to live out your purpose.  Remain aware of who you really are, what feels good to you? Do that!

Secondly, how do you know what your weaknesses are? Just like your strengths are things in which you excel naturally in, your weaknesses are just the opposite. If you find something to be extremely challenging and it doesn’t come natural to you at all, chances are, it’s a weakness. Contrary to my statement earlier, your weaknesses are not meant to be ignored. We all have room to improve in many different areas; however, you don’t need to spend excessive amounts of time trying to be an expert in an area you know to be a natural weakness. Focus that effort on your strengths. The best way to combat your weaknesses is to surround yourself with others who are strong in that area.

We are all different and therefore, have skills and qualities in many different areas. Build a team around you of people that are different from you. Celebrate those differences. Have you ever heard the acronym for TEAM? Together everyone achieves more; that means everyone on the team works in their strengths to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team.

Find others that can fills the gaps in your life. Slowly but surely, you’ll find by association, you’ll start to grow stronger in your weaknesses. For instance, maybe you don’t have a dynamic personality and really don’t communicate well with others. This is a weakness you might want to expand on to enhance the relationships in your life. It may not be in your path to become a dynamic speaker or politician, but by forming friendships with people that do have that path, by default, your communication skills and engagement with others will improve.

Think!Awareness Leads to Empowering Yourself

Third, Reflection.  Take some time to reflect on areas that you may be weak. This is sometimes a harder self-analysis, because we don’t really like to focus on things we’re not good at, and sometimes we may find ourselves in self-denial, thinking we are good in areas that we really aren’t. Remember, you can’t be good at everything; everyone has some weaknesses. Once you know what they are, make a decision to limit the time you invest in them; your priority should always be to operate in your strength zone. Once you know where your weaknesses are, find others whose strengths occupy that space, and complete your life. Weaknesses are a natural part of human nature; don’t sweat the small stuff.

This quote says it all, the realization that you are responsible for all of your actions, be it small or big. When you begin to take note of just how each little action you choose to make is setting into motion a future result for yourself, is eye opening. For each thought you think about, what you believe is going to happen in your life is causing your life to develop into what you believe it will become.

IMG_20130119_132046Your emotional health is the most important aspect of your life because you emotions are your indicator of how your life is developing.  An example, when you are thinking great things will happen in your life and then you feel like you don’t believe it, then it doesn’t happen you feel sure that something outside of you made it happen… but what actually happened was your feeling it will not happen sent the vibration out that you did not expect it to happen, so it did not happen.  Are you getting this?

Let’s just experiment, think of something you would like to have in your life, (ex. SeaDoo Riding in Florida) what would it feel like to have it in your life right now?  What would it feel like to enjoy it with others? How are you preparing for it in your life right now?  Are you waiting until you have it in your life to prepare for it?  How do you get ready for a vacation?  Years, months, weeks, days before it you are preparing for it right?  So, why wouldn’t you do that for everything in your life?

These choices may appear to be futile and you may not care much at the time of making these choices, however,they will determine your results. Just think where you are today is exactly the results of who you believed yourself to be months ago. Amazing isn’t it?

Once this knowing took root in my mind I begin to pay close attention to all my thoughts…. as much as possible!
I encourage you to pay attention, close attention to what you are thinking about… On a moment-by-moment basis… If not, when something happens to you, take a moment and think about it… Do you or do you hear people say “I knew that was going to happen” they are so correct because what you think about you bring about, can you see how that works out?

When you say it you must feel it as well!! Your feelings are the magic!

What Will Personal Challenge of Consistent Action Do For You?


One day, about twenty-seven days ago, I woke up thinking ~, what if I walked outside everyday for thirty minutes for ninety days? {Remember that’s outside in every kind of weather}

I wondered if I could maintain it for the entire ninety days. If I could what type of transformations, would my body go through? If I could what type of psychological changes would take place in me.

I said the only way for me to begin this tall feat was to record it and to ensure that I remained steady with it I posted in on every social media I was a part of.

Today is day twenty-seven, and I begin tracking here on my blog. I will continue to inform you on how the human spirit can challenge itself and cause a lowering of blood pressure even more.

The days of tracking on my YouTube channel are a little mixed up because I was so busy making sure I was tracking on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr I would forget some days of uploading to YouTube… Now I have a system that is helping me stay on track.

Because I am taking some physical action every day, I am so energized to do more, see more, and be more!

With making sure I make it my mission every day to not let the sunset without walking outside for 30 minutes, now I feel like I can challenge myself with other tasks as well.


  • Spend two solid hours working my business
  • Place ten ads per day
  • Make fifth-teen calls by 5pm
  • Write out my six most important things to do by midnight
  • Spend 30 minutes by the water reflecting/receiving new ideas
  • Journal my progress daily

To spend just 90 days on these few tasks it will be amazing the amount of momentum I will be in.

Like I said this is only day 27 and I am already so focused. I believe in miracles ~ Do you?

When my high blood pressure (BP) diagnosis was given to me I was, at first, surprised. Then I recalled that my father had a heart attack when I was in high school. Well, I thought, maybe it’s my genes catching up with me. Something just didn’t set right with me about it, thou. I asked the doctor to check it again and she said yes, you have hypertension, better known as high blood pressure. I was prescribed a pill to help lower my BP at that point.   Remembering the doctor told me if I ever felt a tingling in my hands to go to the emergency room.


One day I awoken to extreme tingling in my hands, immediately I did not pass go, I went straight to the emergency room. They took my blood pressure sure enough; it was 181/140 they were all around me making sure they did everything they could to bring it down. Since my father had a heart attack and had to have quadruple bypass surgery they were, very attentive to me, to say the least. At the discharge of that experience, they prescribe another pill to take along with the one I was on already. Now that makes two high blood pressure pills every day.


You know statistics say that most people have heart attacks on Monday morning. I truly wonder if that is because people just are so sick of their jobs that they don’t want to be at they would rather spend the day at the hospital. True story, I was on my way to work one Monday morning and my chest started feeling like it was caving in… I drove myself straight to the emergency room right down the street from my job. They did many tests and had me there all day long giving me all sorts of tests to make sure I was not having a heart attack. One thing I do know for sure, when you say you are experiencing chest pains, those ER workers go into mega professional mode.


Upon discharge of the emergency room, they put me on an aspirin a day regimen. Now that means I am now taking the two blood pressure pills and an aspirin everyday to maintain my BP at a normal level.   I am not happy about all these drugs. You see all my life up to this point, I was a healthy person I lived a healthy lifestyle. I never had to go to the doctor for anything because I was just healthy. Having to deal with remembering to take all these drugs into my body not knowing what else they were doing to my body, I just did not like it.


This is when I decided to take other methods of lowering my BP. I began looking around at all the health food stores, herbal centers, holistic methods for everything and anything to find alternatives to taking all these pills. I had a friend who had started her own business as a gourmet beverage distributor, she had me over for a tasting and I really like the taste of the coffee and teas. However, when she said they are infused with an herb called Ganoderma my ears perked up. I said, what is that? She said it’s a ancient Chinese herb {most people say that to make their products sound like they have some legitimacy, right} that only their royalty had the privilege to intake because of its vast benefits. I decided to do my due diligence about this herb. Sure enough, I found great amounts of research from different medical sources that stated this “Ganoderma” herb helps to lower blood pressure.


The light bulb in my head illuminated! In September of 2013, I began drinking one cup a day of these coffee and teas and now March 2014 I am happy to say I am off all my BP medication.


My blood pressure has maintained a healthy 128/78 or around there since January 2014. I know in my heart, the healthy coffee lowered my BP and I am so happy about it. Life without having to take any meds is fabulous! I am now starting a 90-Day challenge to myself to walk outside for 30 minutes every day no matter what the weather. I was privilege to hear Dr. Richard BuBois {Declared one of the Best Doctors in America} speak last night at a country club event.  I went to actually go network with some of the people at the country club.  To my surprise the information he spoke about was more interesting then I had ever imagined.

When he began speaking about the many reasons people have issue with their heart and how high blood pressure or heart disease on the whole is approximately 90% preventable, I began to listen to him.  Just thinking that my whole life I was told that “it’s in my genes” so I couldn’t do anything about getting the diseases that my parents had.  When he said that is NOT true, I was leaning in to hear more.

He spoke about changing what you put into your body makes a huge difference in how your body handles its environment better than anything else.  He said maintaining a whole food plant based diet will make your life better able to live a longer more vibrant life.  Having at least 7 – 13 servings of fruits and veggies everyday will make a dramatic change in your overall health.

Before I knew it I was writing down information on a note pad that I had and I just wanted to know more about how I can possibly intake 7- 13 servings of fruits and veggies in a day.  He began to speak about all the studies that have taken place over the last two decades while he has been practicing as a MD of infectious diseases.

I recall him saying about one study that was performed of 12,000 doctors for over 8 years to see if multivitamins and there was no proven change in their resistance to heart disease.  However, they did a study on athletes with a placebo and those who used the juice+ products had greater recovery than the other group.

This note “Research subjects who consumed Juice Plus+ were better able to maintain the normal, healthy elasticity of arteries, even after a high-fat meal; maintain normal levels of homocysteine, a waste product associated with heart health; and demonstrated positive effects on several other measures of vascular health.” was also revealed.

Just the possibility of taking either a capsule that contains 7 – 13 servings of fruits and veggies or attempting to eat 7 – 13 servings of fruits and veggies, which would you prefer?   This capsules are according to Dr. Richard DuBois are whole food and is bio-available meaning it gets into the blood stream easier and fully like actually eating the whole food.

He said the key is to have a balance of what MOTHER NATURE gives us.  Considering that a serving is slightly smaller than our fist… for us to get 7- 13 is highly impossible if we were to attempt to eat all of them.

Starting out taking a beginner class of Tai Chi I had no idea that it was good for lowering blood pressure.  I began taking it to just relieve stress and while taking it my teacher explained that it is great for lowering blood pressure.  The old saying is correct, “when the student is ready the teacher will appear”. I told people all around me that I liked the way that Tai Chi looked when people were doing it and I would like to take a class in it.  Little did I know there was a class being taught in the gym that I frequented.

I arrived at the class he first time to a room full of about ten people who were all in sync with each movement of Tai Chi and I fell in love with Tai Chi.  My teacher, Mr. John Crouse, is great because he gives enormous amounts of Tai Chi history that helps us to understand the beauty of this wonderful health benefit.

He has explained that Tai Chi or T’ai Chi Ch ‘uan (sometimes spelled Taijiquan) is a centuries-old Chinese martial art.  Up until modern times, Tai Chi was kept secret by today it is practiced by millions of people all over the world primarily for its health benefits.

The postures and movements of Tai Chi are derived from the principles that govern the interaction of Yin creates Yang.  In practice, the Tai Chi player is continually shifting between empty and full weight, between soft and firm in order to achieve proper equilibrium. The movements are supple and primarily circular in nature.

Tai Chi is related in many ways to acupuncture: proper practice will increase and balance the flow of Chi (life-energy) throughout the body.  Tai Chi has an excellent reputation as a healing exercise and many Doctors in China today prescribe it for their patients.  Western Doctors and therapists are also beginning to recognize the value of Tai Chi.  Except for a very few special cases, no one is too old or too weak to begin Tai Chi.

This is just a beginning of some ways to improve lowering your blood pressure and I will be posting more for you on how to reduce your blood pressure and eventually come off your high blood pressure medications, like I did.

When reading “Healthy Wonders of Water” on Web MD it is good to see some of the reason I drink lots of water have real facts behind it.

I always liked drinking water because it just made me feel good; however, I did not realize I was so close to dehydration that is why it made me feel so good.   According to Amanda Carlson, director of performance nutrition for Athletes’ Performance, which trains many of the world’s top athletes. “Just losing 2% of your body weight in fluid can decrease performance by up to 25%.”

If I am nowhere near as fit as the world’s top athletes are at this point in my life, I know it would probably decrease my performance by much more.  Who am I kidding?  I would have to be doing something to have a decrease in performance.  Lol!

That is why I a have affirmed to start this new self-performance program.  I will begin with drinking the two glasses of water as soon as I wake up.  I will perform this for two days, started it today and every two days I will add the one glass of water 30 minutes before each meal for the rest of this week.

It will be interesting to remember to have one full glass of water before taking a bath or shower to reduce blood pressure.  This is so much easier than taking high blood pressure medicine that has a multitude of side effects, I will enjoy this.


I already drink a half a glass of water before going to bed; I did not even know it was a great to do.  I remembered hearing when I was younger, if I drank a half of glass of water before going to bed and I had problems that needed solving while I am sleep as long as I ask for the problem to be worked on, it would be while I sleep.  When I awoke, all I had to do was drink the other half of the glass of water and no more problems.   I will continue to do this only with two full glasses of water now.

In addition, I will begin to walk for 30 minutes five days a week; I hear walking outdoors is the best.  These are two things that are simple to do, and because they are simple to do that makes them simple not to do.  Simply because I have stated it here on this post, I will make sure to use myself as a human experiment.

Just taking it one day at time, making sure I do the simple things of drinking water every day and walking 30 minutes five days a week for 30 days.  According to the app, it says if I maintain 1500 calories per day on April, I will have lost 15 pounds.   Let’s see if it knows what it is talking about.

This is just a glimpse into how water makes a difference in lowering our blood pressure.
